The operations of enterprises are directly affected by the different groups of people that are employed within it.Factors such as gender, personality, and culture will inevitably cause a variety of challenges for management to overcome. The responsibility of overcoming these problems falls to management team, and therefore leadership within an enterprise tends to adjust their leadership style in accordance with the situation, and will inevitably develop their own leadership characteristics.Broadly speaking, management will adopt various characteristics in order to develop a specific leadership stance.Leadership is a process that managers adopt to influence and promote group or organizational activities(Yukl,2002).In relation to empowerment,a large number of scholars have conducted research.Empowerment within enterprise is characterized by 'promoting self-discipline' and 'employee support and encouragement'(Miyawaki,2012).The use of these 2 approaches with an empowering leadership style assists in enabling enterprise to achieve its goals. For this study,a detailed review of research previously completed in relation to leadership styles was conducted, and subsequently found that leadership style adopted by organizations, and the impact it has on employees, was an integral aspect of management worthy of significant attention. For individuals, their perception of the leadership style largely determines their motivation, efficiency, and quality of work(Gao Qian 2014).The purpose of this research paper is to study the effect of executive leadership on employee performance,OCB,employee motivation and morale, and the role of employees and OCB when selecting an executive leadership style. The paper goes on to examine which leadership styles should be adopted in certain environments, how management plays a role in the workforce, and how management affects normal everyday business activities. The paper also clearly constructs a model of the relationship between empowering leadership styles, workforce motivation, job performance and OCB.How to manage a team most effectively has been a long-standing subject for management, and this study provides evidence of how to approach, and subsequently solve, this problem. The focus of the paper is to examine empowering styles of leadership,by utilizing two methods;firstly, the extensive research completed previously on this topic is analysed, and secondly questionnaire survey designed to collect data on OCB is designed and utilised.Data from a total of 273 questionnaires surveys was collected from over 20 enterprises in Beijing,Shanghai, and Nanjing. The data was then analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and Amos21.The following conclusions are subsequently drawn:(1)An empowering leadership style has a significant positive effect of the workforce, job performance and OCB;(2)The workforce itself has a significant influence on work effectiveness and OCB;(3)In the relationship between empowering leadership and job performance, the ability of the workforce to follow also plays a vital role;(4)In the relationship between empowering leadership and OCB,the ability of the workforce to follow is integral to the success of this style. The final part of the paper highlights the theoretical and practical significance of the research, and also explains the shortcomings, and future potential of research that could be completed in this subject area.
