A Study On The Synergetic Relationship Between Tourism And Urbanization In Tourism Cities

The development of tourism and urbanization runs through the entire process of the historical evolution of tourism cities.The benign interaction and coordinated symbiosis between them promote the rapid development of tourism cities.Many qualitative or quantitative researches have been conducted on the relationship between tourism and urbanization,which mainly focus on the overall relationship between them.Based on the previous studies,this paper analyzes the interaction between tourism and urbanization and its internal mechanisms,and then constructs two comprehensive evaluation index systems for tourism and urbanization,respectively.By using syntactic,wavelet analysis,time series,and coupling coordination model,and other methods,this paper takes the typical tourism city of Sanya as an example and conducts an empirical analysis about the overall and intrinsic mechanisms of the coordinated relationship between tourism and urbanization,from the perspectives of urban planning,development cycle,causality,and degree of coordination.Research shows:(1)From 1988 to 2015,tourism and urbanization of Sanya City experienced three different stages of development:start-up generation period(1988-1997),initial adjustment period(1998-2012),and revolution and development period(2013-2015);(2)From 2002 to 2015,Sanya City changed from a period of initial adjustment to the period of revolution and development.During this period,the tourism and urbanization development of Sanya City was in a long-term equilibrium,and Granger causality showed that during this period,the development of tourism in Sanya City had promoted urbanization and was the driving force behind the development of urbanization.However,the development of urbanization was not the reason that promoted the development of tourism.(3)A further Granger causal analysis of the indicators found that the development of tourism in Sanya City directly promoted population urbanization and spatial urbanization,and enabled urbanization to be realized in all aspects.Urbanization of population has become the main motives that promoted the development of tourism.Population urbanization played an important role in promoting the development of urbanization and tourism in Sanya City;(4)From 2002 to 2015,tourism and urbanization development in Sanya City were judged based on the degree of coupling coordination.It has gone through six different stages and gradually entered benign coordination from a serious imbalance,which is consistent with the characteristics of the development stage mentioned above.Maintaining and promoting the improvement of coordination status is conducive to the realization of the city's reform and development.Concerning the above conclusions,combined with the review of relevant background data of Sanya City,this paper puts forward suggestions for the future development of Sanya City:(1)Strengthen the positioning of tourism city and promote the overall development of cities;(2)Optimize the urban population structure and improve management level of services;(3)Rationally plan tourism space and improve the level of urban construction;(4)Enrich the content of tourism products and increase urban image propaganda.
