Employee recognition is an important division of organizational motivation widely used in the management.Although it plays a big role in the organizations, there are rare studies about how it goes.Leaders could make recognition and compliments on the employee who acts well, does a good job,or make great devotion to his/her work,no matter in a formal or informal way at the open or private condition. The recognition practices are various, oral compliments,thank-you letters,or emails from leader, all can perform its duty.Compared to other incentives, employee recognition is less about monetary or material giving. It emphasizes on the recognition of employees' work practice, work results and devotions. This trait makes it possible that leaders could inspire their followers in a low financial way and get favorable feedbacks.Employees who get recognition tend to display more positive behaviors, because they are more spiritual and emotional bond to their organization. Therefore,it is of practical significance to focus on the research of employee recognition and its positive effect on work engagement. To be more specific, this study tries to explore the relationship between employee recognition and work engagement mediated by two discrete emotions, happiness and pride. Moreover, this study attempts to find out if this relationship is moderated by other organizational issues, due to that organization is an interactive system.Organizational justice and leader-member exchange are chosen. For the factors interact with each other within the organization, further efforts will be made into the moderating effects of organizational justice and leader-member exchange.Whether and how the happiness and pride emotion would mediate the moderating effects will be tested in this research. To obtain the data, questionnaire survey is put in use.36 sets of leader-member paired questionnaires are withdrawn and 151 valid employee copies are collected.By SPSS20.0 and AMOS 17.0 and through regression analysis and structural equation model, data are demographic analyzed and hypotheses are tested. The results turn out:(1)Employee recognition has significant positive influence on work engagement.(2)Happiness emotion partly mediates the relationship between employee recognition and work engagement. However, the mediated effect of pride emotion dos not get support.(3)Organizational justice and leader-member exchange play a role as moderator between the relationship of employee recognition and work engagement. That is to say,the level of organizational justice and leader-member exchange influences the positive effect of employee recognition on work engagement.(4)Happiness and pride emotion do mediate the moderated effect of organizational justice.(5)The moderated effect of leader-member exchange is mediated by pride emotion, but not the happiness emotion.According to the data results, this essay discusses the above empirical conclusions, put forward a few valuable suggestions for management reality. At the end of this essay, shortcomings are discussed, and the possible future research direction is indicated.
