Research On The Impact Of Regional Innovation Performance On Export Trade

Over 30 years of reform and opening up,the export of China has developed rapidly.In 2015,China's total export volume increased to 3.75 trillion dollars,leaping to the top of the world.However,this staggering development can not hide the reality that the export of China is big but not strong,such as the China-made products are low added value,poorer quality and core competitiveness.In the process of resolving these issues,the importance of innovation has become increasingly apparent.Innovation performance has gradually become an endogenous driving force for promoting exports and promoting economic development.The main reason for the impact of innovation performance on the economy and trade is that innovation can reduce production costs,increase the competitiveness of products in the international market,increase the technological content of products,optimize the structure of export products,and promote the development of export trade.In the system of international division of labor,the higher level of regional innovation brings a higher position of the region,and also led to a higher added value of its exports.Innovation performance mainly includes two aspects of scientific and technological achievements and economic benefits of innovation.Therefore,this paper selects the number of patents authorized,the number of articles included in the three systems,the turnover of technology market,the sales revenue of new products,and the trade volume of high-tech products to construct a regional innovation performance evaluation index system.The export trade volume is selected to measure the export situation of 30 provinces and cities in the Chinese mainland(except Tibet).This paper uses regional panel data to study the effect of regional innovation performance on export trade volume.By analyzing the empirical results,this paper can find the following conclusions.First,there is a significant positive correlation between regional innovation performance and export trade volume,and the higher the regional innovation performance,the more it can promote the increase of export trade volume in its own region and its neighboring regions.Secondly,there are significant differences in innovation performance in different regions,innovation performance in the eastern region is far ahead of the central and western regions,however,the growth rate of innovation performance in the central and western regions is faster than that in the eastern region in recent years.Thirdly,The results of the Moran I test verify that the volume of export trade has a spatial correlation.Finally,based on the results of the study,we put forward policy recommendations to further accelerate regional innovation performance and drive export trade.For example,increasing scientific research investment,improving scientific and technological innovation capabilities,attaching importance to technological innovation of enterprise entities,implementing talent strategy of technological innovation to promote trade development,promoting the integration of regional "production,research,and research" in order to give full play to innovation performance to promote positive effects of export trade,aiming to achieve regional high-quality harmonious economic and social development.
