The Impact Of Export Trade On Total Factor Productivity

Under the background of supply-side structural reform,the study of the relationship between foreign trade and economic growth has been paid more and more attention by scholars both at home and abroad,especially the issue of the impact of export trade on total factor productivity.From the theoretical point of view,studying the internal influence of export trade on total factor productivity can provide a certain reference value for the transformation and upgrading of export trade.In the sense of practice,it can examine whether export trade can be the source of power for a country's economic growth.So what is the effect of export trade on total factor productivity? What are the effects of export trade on the two decomposed variables of total factor productivity : technical efficiency and technological progress rate? By combing the relevant articles,the paper decompose TFP into technical efficiency and technological progress rate,and then discuss the impact of export trade on TFP and its decomposition indicators.At the same time,the paper uses the method of theoretical analysis,descriptive statistical analysis and empirical research to research the two problems,and puts forward relevant policy suggestions according to the conclusion.The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of Shandong's export trade on TFP and its decomposition indicators based on the mechanism of export trade affecting total productivity.Firstly,the paper makes a brief review to the theory of TFP and the theory of export trade affecting TFP,analyses the effect mechanism of export trade on the TFP from the theoretical level.Secondly,using the Malmquist index model based on DEA,the article calculates the TFP of industry in Shandong province and its decomposition index,makes a descriptive statistical analysis for the TFP of Shandong province.Finally,the text does the empirical test for Shandong using the method of OLS,2SLS and GMM to explore the influence of Shandong Province export trade on TFP and its decomposition indicators of industrial sectors,and draw relevant conclusions.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The TFP of Shandong is largely due to the improvement of technological progress rate,and the influence of technological efficiency is relatively weak.(2)TFP can promote by itself.The export trade of Shandong province has a positive impact on TFP,and has passed the test at the significant level of 5%.The export trade with lagging one stage,lagging two stage and lagging three stage also has a positive effect on TFP of the current period,but the effect is not obvious.(3)The export trade of Shandong province can bring significant improvement in technical efficiency,but it has a limited impact on the rate of technological progress.Due to the availability of data in industrial enterprises,it is not possible to study the question from the micro enterprise level.In addition,the horizontal contrast analysis of the sample data in China's provinces is also the future research direction.
