In April 2017,US President Donald Trump signed two executive orders on trade aimed at combating foreign trade abuses that contribute to the US’s half-trillion-dollar trade deficit. The vast US-China trade deficit again becomes a big focus both in China and U.S..As the biggest trade partner of U.S.,China ran USD347 billion surplus on merchandise trade with U.S.,though a little decrease compared to the trade surplus in 2015,it still accounted for 47%of total U.S.trade deficit. This becomes a major source of frictions in Sino-US relations.Today, the world economy is highly integrated, both China and U.S.have been benefiting from this process from the beginning.Frictions could only bring dramatic damage to them without any help to solve to the trade imbalance. This paper will take this as a starting point, and try to study US-China trade imbalance issue from different perspectives, including the trade history, current situation and characteristics of bilateral trade, through a series of analyses on related theories, practical cases and data comparison. Then it will explore the positive and negative influences on both China and U.S.’s economy. Finally,it will direct to the solutions on how to balance the bilateral trade between China and U.S.based on the new conditions of China’s exploding middle class, flourishing cross-boarder,e-commerce development, the further-pushing-forward "one belt on road" project.
