Research On The Development Of Border Trade Between Yunnan And Myanmar Under The Construction Of The "Belt And Road"

In recent years,Chinese economic growth has slow down.The pulling functions to economy which mainly rely on exporting and investment are keeping downtrend.In 2013,in order to deepen the all-round reforms and to achieve the Chinese nation's bright prospect on the road to revival,the Chinese government,complied with the development trend of the world economy,proposes the "One Belt and One Road"(B&R)initiative which evolving more than sixty countries.The concept is to positively develop the economic partnership with B&R countries,and to build the community of mutual interests in politics,economy,and culture.Yunnan Province,located on the southwest border of China,enjoys the advantageous geographic location.Because of the location advantage,facing Southeast Asia,South Asia and West Asia and closing to Pacific Ocean and Indian Ocean,Yunnan Province becomes one of the important provinces in building of the“One Belt and One Road".Myanmar,as one of the important B&R countries,its location is strategically significance to China for developing East and Southeast Asian market.The border trade between Yunnan and Myanmar is an important part of country's border trade.Therefore,research on the border trade has not only practical but also theoretical values.This thesis focuses on Yunnan-Myanmar border trade development on the background of "One Belt and One Road" initiative.First of all,the thesis analyzes the connection between the "One Belt and One Road" construction and the Yunnan-Myanmar border trade.Underlines are put on two aspects,the opportunities that "One Belt and One Road" initiative could bring to the border trade and the supports the border trade could offer to“One Belt and One Road"construction.Secondly,the thesis analyzes the restraints to Yunnan-Myanmar border trade development on the background of "One Belt and One Road"initiative.Three factors are mentioned,respectively,the restraint from Myanmar side to the border trade,the restraint from Yunnan side and other factors.Third,taking Ruili's key development and opening up pilot zones as example,the thesis explores the development status of the Ruili Experimental Area and its influences to the border trade.Finally,for the purpose of expanding oversea investments,promoting economic structure adjustment and technology improvement,enhancing the cooperation in service business,further developing the business scopes,building industrial chain across countries,helping the effective flow and reasonable allocation for the capital and other resources,the thesis proposes suggests on policy support,human resource training,talented importing,culture communication,trade structure optimization,the fundamental facilities construction improving and acceleration,customs clearance facilitation,crime elimination cooperation,etc.
