Differences In Anti-dumping Trade Effects Based On Product Categories

Against the background of the parallel of trade protectionism and trade liberalism,trade between China and various economies will inevitably create friction and disputes.Anti-dumping is to a large extent one of the important manifestations.At present,China is the country with the most anti-dumping cases in the world.Anti-dumping by foreign countries in China involves many industries in China.The existing research content of anti-dumping effect focuses on the trade effect of a specific industry involved,and there are relatively few studies on the difference of trade effect of different industries.Recognizing the similarities and differences in the anti-dumping trade effects of different categories of products and analyzing their causes helps to adjust industrial policies,marketing strategies,and effective anti-dumping response strategies with positive theoretical guidance and practical reference value.Based on the perspective of product category,this article selects the world's most involved base metals and their basic metal products,agricultural products,machinery and electronic equipment and their component products,chemical and related industrial products,and textile and textile products as an example,adopting dummy variables.The law and dynamic panel models studied trade effects and differences between anti-dumping filings and measures before and after implementation of the products involved in the anti-dumping case and trade effects and differences caused by other factors during the implementation of anti-dumping measures;the study found that anti-dumping has been applied to different types of products in China.The degree of trade impact is quite different.There are also differences in the trade effects of other factors during the implementation of anti-dumping measures.Specifically,the difference is mainly reflected in the serious trade disruption effect of anti-dumping on base metals and their metal products and agricultural products.During the implementation of anti-dumping measures,trade competitiveness has a detrimental effect on textiles,textile products and agricultural products.In addition,compared with the results of similar studies,this analysis shows that the trade effect of anti-dumping on agricultural products is more prominent;Dominant trade competitiveness has a negative effect on trade involving exports.According to the commonalities and differences of the anti-dumping trade effects of different categories of products,this paper proposes that the government agencies,industry associations and enterprises of the three countries should establish emergency warning systems,seek opportunities for trade cooperation,create market diversification,transfer product competitive advantages,and increase product price advantages other suggestions.
