Under the background of unprecedented global popularity of creative economy,the creative industries have ushered in the golden age of rapid development in every country.Among them,Asia,which is centered on China,Japan and South Korea,has the most prosperous development.Faced with an increasingly fierce competition in the international market,China's creative industries are encountering many challenges in despite of its high-speed development.So many issues have constrained the further improvement of creative industries in China,such as the imbalanced trade structure,the lagging development of creative services,the lack of quality products and brand enterprises.In view of this,the author compares the competitiveness of the creative industries in China,Japan and South Korea,which have the similar culture,so that we can find out the problems and improve the creative industries in China.Firstly,this paper gives a brief introduction to the related concepts of creative industries through literature analysis.Then,according to the trade data of creative industries on UNCTAD website,this article makes a comprehensive analysis of the current status of the creative industries in China,Japan and South Korea through the comparison of their trade scale,structure,and partners with tables and diagrams.Based on this,the international market share and trade competitive index of creative products and services in the overall and subdivided industries are calculated to quantitatively analyze the competitiveness of creative industries in China,Japan and South Korea.And their strengths and weaknesses are explored respectively.At last,the paper summarizes the full text and comes to the conclusion.According to the results,countermeasures are provided to promote the development of creative industries in China.The results of the study indicate that China's trade competitiveness in creative products is superior to that of Japan and South Korea.Whether it is from the perspectiveof total trade volume or growth rate,or in terms of international market share and trade competitiveness in subdivided industries,China all owns great advantages.In the meanwhile,problems such as imbalanced trade structure and lack of core competitive products are also existing.In the aspect of creative services,Japan is the only country with trade competitiveness.Although China does not show any competitive advantages in the creative services except computer and information industries,the speed of development in services is quite fast and disadvantages are gradually waning.However,in the highly knowledgeable and innovative industries such as royalties and licence fees,there are still great disadvantages that need to be improved.
