Design And Implementation Of The Exhibits Of Science And Technology Museum Based On The Principle Of Visual Persistence

Science and technology museum,as a science popularization infrastructure,plays an important role in enhancing the scientific quality of citizens,especially juveniles.The status of science and technology museums in China is not optimistic.It is difficult for exhibits to break through the tradition to innovate.Exhibits in many science and technology museums are like copy and paste.In order to maintain its vitality for a long time,science and technology museums must move toward innovation.As a new type of display in recent years,LED can not only statically display texts and patterns but also dynamically display stereoscopic animations.While spectators are attracted by interesting phenomena,they also spontaneously reflect on the underlying scientific principles.This article analyzes the literature and field survey,analyzes the design concept and display form of exhibits,and studies the theory and application of visual persistence at the same time.The author believes that the production of visual persistence exhibition should be based on the theory of "the tower of experience",visual psychology,and Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory.Also,the design principles and concepts of the exhibits should also be followed.At the stage of design and production of exhibits,the audience's positioning,design goals,and presupposition plans were first explained,and the five major principles of exhibition design should be followed: educational,scientific,safety,fun,and interactive.Find problems in the production process and check the data corrections in time.Then interviewed three experts and a related staff member of the Science and Technology Museum of Hubei Province,a Professor of Industrial Design at a College of Mechanical Engineeringand and 12 ordinary audiences.The experts fully affirmed that the exhibits can basically meet the expected goals,but they also clarified that there are issues such as the display content is too complex,the protective device is not considered,the interaction is lacking,and the controllability is poor.It is also deeply aware that the exhibits need to be considered in order to determine the orientation of the exhibits,the objects they face and the environment of the exhibition area.
