Critical illness insurance has developed as a kind of very important insurance in China’s health insurance market after more than two decades.With the development of critical illness insurance,the market has been subdivided,and the female critical illness insurance products have emerged.With the increase of females’ economic strength and the high incidence of specific diseases,females’ demand for insurance,especially critical illness insurance,has greatly increased.At the same time,the policy of “universal two-child policy” is more concerned with the health of adult females.Females have greater needs for critical illness insurance than males.There is a great market demand for female critical illness insurance products which is designed for females’ health as a special insurance target.The relevant policies promulgated by the state to support the development of the health service industry will also jointly promote the development of critical illness insurance.Clear national policy backgrounds has also provided support for the development of female critical illness insurance.However,at present,China’s female critical illness insurance products are highly homogenized and lack product and service innovations.Therefore,this study will have important practical significance for the development of female critical illness insurance market.This article begins with an in-depth analysis of the basic theories of critical illness insurance,and then analyzes the characteristics of female critical illness insurance.Then it introduces the development course of China’s critical illness insurance,and then analyzes the status and deficiencies of the existing products in China.Then it points out that the innovation of female critical illness insurance in our country requires innovation.The clear policy background and huge potential market demand provide feasible support for the innovation of female critical illness insurance.Finally,based on the advanced experience of other countries,this paper puts forward some innovative suggestions,such as raising the level of insurance,adjusting the rate,increasing the repurchase terms and health management services,in response to the deficiency of female critical illness insurance.
