The Evolution Of Mercantilism And The Interpretation Of The Trade War Between China And The USA

Mercantilism was an economic theory that originated in the 15 th century.It was a preliminary exploration of modern economics.Mercantilism played an important role in the transition from early feudal system to capitalism.After more than three centuries of development,classical economics has stepped onto the historical stage and mercantilism has gradually withdrawn from the perspective of mainstream economics.But mercantilism has never disappeared,guiding the country's economic development and prosperity in different countries and different times.Mercantilism's exploration of the country's prosperity has aroused generations of economists thinking on economic issues.Mercantilism's emphasis on production,foreign trade and state intervention and all provides a direction for later economic development.On the one hand,mercantilism promoted the rise of Britain and France in the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries.On the other hand,mercantilism promoted the prosperity of Germany and the United States in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.Until now,new mercantilism has also provided different economic ideas and policy propositions for the development of international trade.It can be said that mercantilism has always existed on the road of national prosperity,guiding different countries to pursue economic prosperity,national prosperity.Based on the relevant works and materials of mercantilism,this paper comprehensively expounds the development and evolution of mercantilism.Firstly,it combs the development of classical mercantilism and puts forward the definition of classical mercantilism.It holds that classical mercantilism is a theory of national development that analyses the dynamic development of the relationship between the state and the market,and combs the main content of classical mercantilism from the background and ideological origin of the times.Secondly,it divides the development of subsequent mercantilism according to the time clue.This paper elaborates two parts: the revival of mercantilism and the new mercantilism,analyses the main ideas of mercantilism in different times,compares them,and summarizes the different connotations of mercantilism in different periods,so as to show the dynamicevolution of mercantilism in different times and different social realities.Finally,it combines theory with practice.Based on the trade war between China and the USA,this paper analyses the economic causes of the trade war between China and the USA,and from the perspective of mercantilism,gives the theoretical enlightenment of mercantilism on economic development and practical suggestions for China to deal with the trade war between China and the USA.
