The spatial structure of tourism reflects the spatial attributes and interrelationships of tourism activities. The study on the evolution of regional tourism spatial structure is helpful to effectively develop tourism resources,to marketing tourist source market precisely and to improve tourism network traffic,to rationally organizing tourism economic activities, and to promote the healthy development of regional tourism industry and economy. The results of tourism development in Liaoxi Corridor do not match with the massive resources endowment, and the spatial structure of tourism needs to be optimized. This paper takes the tourism spatial structure of the Liaoxi Corridor as the research object, using the methods of literature research, comparative analysis and mathematical statistics, and choosing the relevant data of 2007,2012 and 2017 to analyze the evolution characteristics of the tourism spatial structure of the Liaoxi Corridor, and draws the following conclusions:1.The spatial distribution of grade A tourist attractions in the corridor area of Western Liaoning Province is gradually balanced. The distribution of grade A scenic spots in Liaoxi Corridor area changed from cohesive state to uniform state from 2007 to 2012,and tended to random distribution in 2017.With the increasing number of Alevel scenic spots, the spatial distribution of A-level scenic spots tends to be balanced gradually. The A-level scenic spots in Liaoxi Corridor show typical characteristics of “core-edge” diffusion.2.There is less intercity in tourism economy between cities. With the passage of time, the total tourism economy of the cities in the Liaoxi Corridor has been developing and expanding, between 2007-2012,the tourism economy of the cities has increased ten times or even dozens of times, and the growth rate has slowed down in the past five years of 2013-2017.From the results of network agglomeration subgroups, although the five cities have been more and more closely linked in the past 11 years, their agglomeration subgroups are still small, which shows that there are fewer contacts between tourism economy, especially in Fuxin City.3.Tourism market still needs to be broadened. In terms of the evolution of tourist market structure, the Asian market is the largest foreign tourist market, followed by the European market and the American market, and the market share of Europe and the Americas is increasing. As far as the composition of domestic tourists is concerned, the tourist market in the western Liaoning corridor is still dominated by the tourist market in the region and the surrounding cities of Liaoning Province. The tourism market structure of the provinces and cities outside the radiation region is still narrow and needs to be broadened urgently.4.The accessibility of urban node centers to various scenic spots needs to be improved. The five cities in the Liaoxi Corridor are more and more closely connected in terms of tourism and transportation. With the improvement of the transportation network system, the "one-hour urban agglomeration" between Panjin,Huludao,Chaoyang,Fuxin and Jinzhou has been formed.Although the connection degree between urban nodes is relatively high, the accessibility of urban node center to various scenic spots needs to be improved, and the problem of "the last kilometer" from city to scenic spot needs to be further strengthened.Based on the analysis and summary of the evolution characteristics of tourism spatial structure in Western Liaoning Corridor, this paper examines the existing problems of tourism spatial structure in Western Liaoning Corridor, and explores the factors affecting its formation from the aspects of natural geographical conditions, tourism resources,socio-economic development and traffic conditions. It puts forward some strategies to optimize the structure, such as integrating regional resources, upgrading tourist attractions, breaking down regional administrative barriers, strengthening the economic ties between cities, setting up an image of overall marketing, constantly expanding the tourist market, optimizing the construction of transportation and infrastructure, and improving the quality of tourist reception services.
