| Over the past 40 years of the reform and opening up,China’s economic growth has attracted worldwide attention, with an average annual GDP growth rate of 9.5%,and has become the world’s second largest economy and the largest industrial and goods trading countries. However,a series of contradictions in agricultural development have become increasingly prominent with the same time of rapid economic growth in China, highlighting the coexistence of phased oversupply and insufficient supply, high inventory and poor sales, and the lack of sustained growth of farmers’ income.Fundamentally,as an independent economy, the growth effect of agriculture is not only related to the input of capital, land and other basic economic factors, but also closely related to the "embedded"social environment.Especially under the current pressure of resources and environment, the rising cost of agricultural products and the depressed price, the structural and institutional problems facing China’s agricultural development are becoming more and more serious, and it is difficult to effectively deal with the structural contradictions of China’s agricultural development by simply investing in economic factors. Therefore,it is necessary to start with the social environment of agricultural economy, combine the basic economic factors with the social relationship network, and investigate the role of social embeddedness factors in China’s agricultural economic growth. This paper investigates the influencing factors of agricultural economic growth in China from the perspective of social embeddedness.Firstly, this paper expounds the background, purpose and significance of the topic, and reviews the relevant theories of social embeddedness and agricultural economic growth.Secondly,we makes a preliminary analysis of the current situation and evolution of China’s agricultural economic growth, and further makes a statistical analysis of the current situation and trend of agricultural economic growth from the regional and industrial perspectives. In addition, based on the basic facts of our country,we combs the social embedding factors that affect the agricultural economic growth of our country, and constructs the social embedding model of the agricultural economic growth of our country on this basis. Finally, this paper examines the impact of basic economic factors and social embeddedness factors on China’s agricultural economic growth and its mechanism by using the panel data from 1978 to 2016.The results show that:(1)75.96%of the share is caused by the social embedding factors of agricultural economic growth among the overall differences of agricultural economic growth in China;(2)fertilizer input, agricultural machinery input and agricultural irrigation input, will significantly affect agricultural economic growth, while labor input and land input will inhibit agricultural economic growth;(3)Social embeddedness factors have direct and cross-level interactions with China’s agricultural economic growth.Cognitive embeddedness, relationship Embeddedness and cultural embeddedness have direct promoting effects on China’s agricultural economic growth.Structural embeddedness has a cross-layer interaction with China’s agricultural economic growth.Structural embeddedness will enhance the positive effect of chemical fertilizer input on China’s agricultural economic growth, and weaken the negative effect of labor input on China’s agricultural economic growth. From the new perspective of social embeddedness, this paper embeds the individual of agricultural development economy into the social system, and investigates the influence of basic economic factors and social factors on the growth of agricultural economy in China, with a view to providing some empirical evidence to clarify the structural contradictions of agricultural development in China and to promoting the sustainable growth of agriculture and realizing agricultural modernization in China. |
