Research On Occurrence Mechanism Of Tourism Dutch-disease Effect In Lijiang

Over the years,tourism has been used as a catalyst for economic growth in many regions,an enormous number of tourism-dependent cities have aroused,since different sectors are interrelated in the tourist industry,which can drive direct and indirect consumption,improve investment efficiency and broaden investment channels,earn foreign exchange income and balance trade balance.However,the prosperous tourism didn’t drive the rapid development of Lijiang’s economy as expected,it also can’t make Lijiang get rid of the"Matthew effect"to achieve a leap-forward development,on the contrary,prosperous tourism may lead the industrial structure to imbalance,and caused some empirical facts that is similar to the traditional"Dutch disease".Therefore,this paper takes the tourism "Dutch disease" as research spot,which is useful for preventing the risk in economic development and it’s good for understanding the relationship between tourism development and economic growth.Besides,our study can also help regional economy be healthy and sustainable.There are five parts of this research.Chapter 1,we clarify the research background,research significance and research methods.Chapter 2,we systematically reviewed the tourism"Dutch disease"research literatures,and defined the concept of tourism"Dutch disease" effect.Chapter 3,we construct a virtual variable regression model to verify the existence of the tourism"Dutch disease"effect of Lijiang.Chapter 4,the Path-dependence and System dynamics analysis are used to analyze the occurrence mechanism of the"Dutch disease"in Lijiang.Chapter 5,we put forward some precautions that are suitable for the actual development of Lijiang.There derives four core results.Firstly,Lijiang surely suffered the tourism "Dutch disease"effect,which is characterized by"de-agriculturalization"and the low efficiency of accelerating the pace of economic development.Secondly,the occurrence of the tourism"Dutch disease"effect for Lijiang(that)is the co-evolution result of the external environment and the self-reinforcement in tourism system.Furthermore,the change of external environment is the original cause of the tourism"Dutch disease"effect.There are series events ranked by time,the events promote the formation of tourism"Dutch disease"effect through Inertia.Besides,the self-reinforcement of tourism system is the internal energy of the formation in tourism"Dutch disease"effect.The self-reinforcing of tourism system restricts the turn of regional economic structure through the loop of positive feedback.Thirdly,The"Dutch disease"effect of tourism is a gradual process,including three steps,which is the establishment of tourism as a priority industry for regional development,the rapid development of regional tourism,and the steady development of regional tourism.Fourthly,Lijiang should reposition the status of the tourism industry,moderately diversify it’s development model,build a crisis management mechanism,and formulate tourism tax policies to release the tourism"Dutch disease"effect.
