Abstract/Summary:
In recent years,Vietnam has continued to reform and open up and actively promoted foreign cooperation policies.Vietnam has also increased its import and export cooperation to China. The implementation of "The Belt and Road" has enabled Vietnamese companies to welcome more opportunities, while Vietnamese companies have to face challenges and fierce market competition.China is Vietnam’s second largest export market, and the two countries have strong trade complementarities. However, due to the huge differences in bilateral trade volume between China and Vietnam, the old "advantages" of Vietnamese companies in the past can no longer meet the new competitive environment. At present, there are also many scholars who study the competitive advantages of the two countries. However, there are very few discussions from the perspective of "The Belt and Road" and the "elevation of export competitiveness".This article analyzes the current status and existing problems of Vietnam enterprises’ exports to China, and uses SWOT analysis to analyze the advantages, disadvantages, opportunities, and threats of Vietnamese enterprises’ exports to China.Using the quantitative analysis model of competitiveness to conclude that there is a high degree of dependence on Vietnam-China trade, unbalanced trade escaping, and a single trade structure problem. This paper comprehensively adopted the Trade Specialization Coefficient(TSC),the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index(RCA),and the CMS model to analyze the possible new competitive advantages of Vietnam’s exports to China. At the end,we put forward measures and suggestions for improving Vietnam’s export competitiveness to China.
