| As a priority area and strategic goal for many countries to develop foreign trade, the competitiveness of service trade has become one of the decisive factors for whether a country can be in an international competitive position. In 2013,China’s President Xi Jinping’s “One Belt and One Road”(“New Silk Road Economic Belt” and “21st Century Maritime Silk Road”)initiative provided new opportunities for service trade development along the line, and added new impetus to the development for global service trade. The importance of systematically examining the competitiveness of national service trade along the “Belt and Road” has also become prominent.Based on the above background, this paper takes the service trade theory and concept definition as the supporting point, takes the comparative advantage and competitive advantage as the starting point, and quantitatively analyzes the service trade competitiveness of the countries along the “Belt and Road”.Considering the lack of complementarity of single indicators, this paper innovatively compiles a service competitiveness index based on factor-intensive,comprehensively evaluates the service trade competitiveness of countries along the “Belt and Road”,and clusters the evaluation results.Based on the Porter Diamond model, this paper further selects the factors affecting the competitiveness of the service trade of the countries along the “Belt and Road”,uses the panel data model to analyze the factors affecting the service trade competitiveness of the countries under the overall and different competitiveness level, and explore the possible dynamic impact mechanism of service trade competitiveness. The empirical results of this paper show that the countries along the “Belt and Road”generally have comparative advantages and competitive advantages of labor-intensive services, comparative advantages and competitive disadvantages of capital-intensive services, and comparative disadvantages and competitive disadvantages of knowledge-intensive services.Human resources, capital resources, knowledge resources, infrastructure, and domestic demand have a significant impact on the competitiveness of labor-intensive servicetrade;infrastructure, domestic demand, related industries and supporting industries, corporate strategy and structure, and government have a significant impact on the competitiveness of capital-intensive service trade;capital resources, knowledge resources, related industries and supporting industries, corporate strategies and structures, and government have a significant impact on the competitiveness of knowledge-tech-intensive service trade.According to the research results, this paper puts forward relevant suggestions to promote the good development of service trade among the countries along the “Belt and Road”. |
