The Great East Expo,which held by the North China Propaganda Alliance in 1942,was a large exposition in Beijing and Tianjin.From the Perspective of the Greater East Asia Expo to understand the society of the enemy-occupied areas at that time,and take it as a breakthrough point to analyze the complex relationship between Japan,the puppet regime and the occupied regime in North China,reveals the essence of Japanese aggression in colonial propaganda and colonial rule in North China.Japan launched the Pacific War in 1941,and the situation in North China changed a lot.In order to consolidate Japan's colonial rule in North China,"reassure" people in North China and utilize the resources of North China to support the war,Japan increased its colonial propaganda in North China.In fact,the Greater East Asia Expo in 1942 was held in this situation.In order to achieve this goal,the preparation and implementation of the Greater East Asia Expo mainly focused on displaying Japan's "achievements,in the "Greater East Asia War" and publicizing its so-called "New Order of Greater East Asia" and "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Circle".In the process of holding the Greater East Asia Expo,Japan occupied the leading position.The idea and purpose of Japan were embodied in the investment of funds,the arrangement of personnel and the design of venues.Under its design and arrangement,the Greater East Asia Exposition showed Japan's"achievements" in the "Greater East Asia War",disparaged the image of Britain and the United States,and demonstrated the rich resources in the "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Circle" and Japan's leadership in it,thus creating a belief that Japan would"win" in the "Greater East Asia War".In order to conserve their power and comply with the requirements of Japan,the puppet regime of North China provided tremendous material,financial and human support for the Expo.It not only took the lead in donating and giving preferential policies,but also mobilized the society of the occupied areas to participate in the Expo by using its own political power.It also placed North China in a"special place" by displaying the resources of North China and the situation of North China's construction.Japan,the puppet regime in North China of Japan and the society in North China seemed to cooperate with each other on the surface,but in fact there were surges of undercurrents,each with its own plans.Japan aimed to stabilize its rule in North China and further plundered its resources in order to support the war,and the puppet regime in North China aimed to maintain its status,therefore it constantly emphasized the "special status" of North China,while the ordinary people in North China were actually under the control and exploitation of both.Japan shaped it into a "liberator"of all ethnic groups in East Asia and what it did was to build a "Greater East Asian Co-prosperity Circle" and "New Order of Greater East Asia".However,behind this was the essence of aggression colonialism and hegemony.Therefore although the Greater East Asia Expo played a role in broadening people,s horizons and enlightening people's wisdom to a certain extent,it is essentially a way of Japanese colonial propaganda,which is limited by its nature.
