Nowadays, with the deepening of economic globalization, countries actively participate in different production stages of global value chain according to their own comparative advantages. With its low labor cost and other advantages,China actively embedded in the global value chain's labor-intensive production stage, and gradually established the status of "World Factory".However,labor-intensive manufacturing industry is in the middle of the smiling curve, results in low economic benefits, and brings the risk of low-end lock-in of global value chain for developing countries such as China. In order to improve the industrial structure and development quality of manufacturing industry, and create more economic benefits,China puts forward the "Made in China 2025" strategy to encourage the development of advanced manufacturing industry, and hopes to move to the high-end of the global value chain. The economic and trade frictions provoked by the United States has a great negative impact on the transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry. In order to analyze the impact of economic and trade frictions on the position of Chinese manufacturing industry in the global value chain, this paper firstly analyzes the part of the Sino-US economic and trade frictions that involves the development of manufacturing industry, and concludes that the United States hinders the development of China's manufacturing industry by improving tariff level, restricting investment and technology exchange and other measures.Secondly, this paper studies the current situation of Chinese manufacturing industry, and draws the conclusion that the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing industry is important to China. At last, through empirical analysis, this paper studies the actual impact of economic and trade frictions on the upgrading of China's manufacturing industry in the global value chain. The results show that the economic and trade frictions will seriously affect the rise of China's manufacturing industry's position in the global value chain. This paper suggests that China should seize opportunities in the crisis, actively explore new markets for foreign trade, improve its ability of independent innovation, timely eliminate backward production capacity and develop advanced manufacturing industry,to achieve the rise of manufacturing industry's position in the global value chain.
