Pueraria is rich of abundant medical and edible value.Pueraria is more and more accepted with people's increasing demand of green health foods.Guangxi is the main producing area of pueraria,it's also an important consuming area of pueraria.However,system study on the status and developmental direction of radix puerariae industry is deficiency.The current situation of radix puerariae industry in Guangxi was analyzed by document collection and field research,the existing advantages and problems were analyzed with the theory of agricultural industrialization,and corresponding countermeasures was put forward.The main results are as follows:1.Current situation and existing problems of pueraria planting in Guangxi.The planting of puerarin has a long history in Guangxi,it was begun to plant in Hongwu year of Ming Dynasty.In general,the planting area,yield,and output value of puerarin is 8432ha,290.7kt,13.37 billion RMB,respectively.It has achieved some success in breeding,cultivation mode and cultivation techniques,the main planting cultivar is Guige 1.However,there are some problems such as less varieties of medicinal pueraria,low yield,low level of mechanization,severe soil acidification,low organic matter contents in soil,low technology popularization degree,insufficiency experience of planting in non-major grain production area,low degree of intensification,small industrial scale,competition from other economic crops extrusion,which restrain the healthy and continuous development of pueraria industry in Guangxi.2.Processing status and problems of pueraria industry in Guangxi.With the development of Guangxi pueraria processing technology and the increasing demand,the products of Guangxi pueraria processing are gradually diversified,the main products including tablets,tea,noodles,pueraria powder,wine,etc.However,there are still some problems,such as low comprehensive utilization of deep processing,high pressure of environmental protection,difficult treatment of waste water,less food safety detection,high idle rate of small plants,low management level and lack of high-quality talents,which limit the further development of pueraria processing enterprises.3.Sales status and existing problems of pueraria industry in Guangxi.The sales operation mode of pueraria products was innovated,sales channel was expanded,and the numbers of brands increased in Guangxi.Usually,fresh radix puerperia are purchased by purchaser,then are transported to the local distribution center,or are shipped around the world.However,there are some problems such as backward sales channels,small network sales coverage,market price fluctuation,unstable planting efficiency,lagging brand creation,low product popularity,insufficient development of domestic and international markets,and market disruption caused by shoddy quality,which is not benefit of expanding the market of puerperia products.4.The advantages of pueraria industry in Guangxi.There are many advantages in developing pueraria industry in Guangxi including production potential,location,market,scientific technique,policy,etc.Finally,some countermeasures for developing Guangxi pueraria industry are put forward including strengthening planting,processing,and sale,so as to provide the corresponding theoretical basis and reference for the development of Guangxi pueraria industry.
