With the transition of China's economy from high-speed growth stage to high-quality development stage,the economic and financial environment faced by China's banking industry is undergoing profound changes.commercial banks should take the initiative to seize opportunities,actively respond to challenges,conscientiously fulfill their social responsibilities,create sustained shared value for shareholders,customers,employees,government,society and the environment to achieve the the synchronous promotion of economic,social and ecological benefits.Only in this way can they form a stable core competition in the complex and changeable economic situation.In recent years,the social responsibility and core competition of commercial Banks have been widely concerned by the academia,the banking industry and other relevant institutions.This paper takes commercial banks as a typical representative,and takes the impact of social responsibility on core competitiveness as the research object.Firstly,the meanings of corporate social responsibility,commercial bank social responsibility,corporate core competence and commercial bank core competence are systematically elaborated,and then based on Stakeholder Theory and Transaction Cost Theory.Based on the annual report and social responsibility report data of 15 commercial banks from 2011 to 2016,an evaluation index system of social responsibility of commercial banks is constructed,which is divided into five categories:shareholders,customers,employees,government,community and environment.Combined with the annual report and social responsibility report data of 15 commercial banks from 2011 to 2016,the evaluation index system of social responsibility of commercial banks is constructed,which is divided into five categories:shareholders,customers,employees,government,community and environment.In the part of empirical research.Firstly,descriptive analysis is made on the data of social responsibility indicators to grasp the performance of commercial banks'responsibilities to various stakeholders from the overall and longitudinal timeline.Then,the comprehensive scores and rankings of each bank in each year are obtained by factor analysis method,and on this basis,the comprehensive scores and rankings of each bank in 2011-2016 are further calculated.Finally,through a series of panel data tests,such as unit root test,F test and Hausman test,we build a model between commercial banks and core competition.Combining theoretical analysis with empirical analysis,this paper makes an exploratory study on the impact of social responsibility performance of commercial banks on their core competition.The results show that the commercial banks'current social responsibility will greatly enhance the core competitiveness of the current period;The social responsibility of commercial banks in the first two periods has a positive impact on the current core competition;The first period of lag has the greatest positive impact;The effect of corporate nature through indirect influence on social responsibility to enhance the core competitiveness is not significant.The effect of corporate nature on enhancing core competition by indirectly influencing social responsibility is not significant.Finally,according to the conclusions of the research,relevant policy recommendations are as follows:(1)Establishing and perfecting the information disclosure system of commercial banks' social responsibility;(2)Enhancing the awareness of social responsibility and coordinating the needs of different stakeholders;(3)Combining long-term business objectives and social responsibility;(4)Strengthening trade exchanges and promoting common development.
