Cost-Benefit Analysis For Supply Chain Management Of Distributing Norwegian Atlantic Salmon To China

The distribution of Norwegian Atlantic Salmon to internatonal markets has been subject to several studies,while the recent studies on export of Atlantic Salmon between Norway and China after the “normalization” in late 2016 are limited.The studie's main goal is to analyse cost-benefit solutions for Supply Chain Management(SCM)of distributing Norwegian Atlantic Salmon to China.Since there is limited material on whereas the raw material generate value in the Supply Chain,the research will focus on significant changes in the Chinese market,change in consumer habits,possible technological improvements and optimization of the distribution channels.The ultimate goal of the thesis is to improve effeciency in the supply chain and its operations through analytics.To achive the research goal,the study was conducted using two interviews to collect inside data on the industry and it's operations.In addition,a small case study was conducted with 51 participants,to get a perspective on consumer prefrences and knowledge.There has been signigicant change in the Chinese market,which has affected the demand for Norwegian Atlantic Salmon.The conclusion of the thesis would be to collect data all along the Supply Chain as input to perform Data Analytics,to show “pain points” for improvements and effeciancy in the Supply Chain to optimize SCM of Norwegian Atlantic Salmon to China.
