| China’s banking industry is showing a steady development trend on the Fortieth Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up.While facing up to the development opportunities,China’s banks are also facing many challenges: the negative effects of the new economic norm in the macro environment,the continuous impact of interest rate marketization on profits,the restriction of market development by stricter regulatory situation,the predicament of asset quality maintenance caused by the rising of Non-performing Assets,the new problems arising from the reshaping of enterprise architecture,etc.Under the situation,the dominant organizational structure of Department Bank has not been able to adapt well to the new era,new environment and new situation.As a new organizational structure,Process Bank is gaining more and more favor of local banks in China because of its unique structure and operational advantages.Process Bank is the theoretical extension and industry practice of process re-engineering.Compared with the mature theoretical research and practical application abroad,the research and practice of Process Bank in China lags behind slightly.Since Liu Mingkang,former chairman of the Banking Regulatory Commission,formally proposed in 2005,Process Bank has not been directly accepted and applied by local banks,but experienced a long period of theoretical research.In order to maximize the value of shareholders’ wealth and avoid the criticism of the long-term operation of the Department Bank system,large state-owned banks and medium-sized joint-stock banks,which are the main participants in China,have successively introduced and started the construction of Process Bank.These banks use vertical structure,standardized process and independent financial model to achieve structural changes such as more efficient work,better marketing,more effective risk control and more intimate service.As one of the representatives of the national city commercial banks,MTB has stable and effective business operation form.But in the face of increasingly fierce market competition environment,under the influence of the top banks of the same type trying process bank one after another,MTB started the construction of Process Bank in 2017 with the innovative thinking of actively exploring and continually improving.The paper takes MTB as a case study object,through the use of relevant knowledge and tools of business management disciplines to analyze the causes of internal and external environment of the Process Bank construction,summarizes the progress made in organizational structure,marketing pattern,risk prevention and control,revenue and profit,service level and system operation caused by the construction of MTB process bank,and reveals the functions of the department,employee needs,feedback mechanism,process execution and other problems in the construction process.By focusing on the analysis of the achievements and shortcomings,the paper finds out the reasons and prescribes the right remedy for the MTB to optimize the work on the construction of Process Bank to provide specific and feasible reference suggestions or measures.The theoretical support and analytical tools of this paper are selected from business management courses such as Strategic Management,Marketing,Organizational Behavior,etc.MTB case analysis is an attempt to combine theory with practice in this paper,the main purposes of this paper are as follows: on the one hand,by introducing typical cases,this paper analyses the consistency of current domestic Process Bank theory and actual construction,summarizes experience and finds shortcomings for MTB’s current construction process banking work,and puts forward the next optimization countermeasures to effectively enhance the effectiveness of process banking construction.On the other hand,this paper explores the implementation of Process Bank in urban commercial banks,which is a supplement to the current researches that focus on the scope of large and medium-sized banks.It is hoped that some steady research results can become branches and tendrils of the local theoretical research system of Process Bank,provide useful reference for other researchers.It is also expected that the specific suggestions can be used for reference by the units that have implemented or planned to build Process Bank in the same industry or related industries. |
