With the proposal of Rural Revitalization strategy, the country pays more and more attention to rural development. In order to effectively implement policies and measures such as beautiful new countryside and Rural Revitalization strategy,it is necessary to study rural residential land at micro-scale and explore the characteristics and laws of land use evolution on the basis of fine construction of rural residential land classification. From the perspective of the evolution of land use structure in rural settlements, this study explores the transformation of land use in underdeveloped rural areas in the process of rapid industrialization and urbanization in China.Taking the evolution process of land use in rural settlements in Puqian Village from 1986 to 2016 as the object, the quantitative structure, spatial structure and function of land use in rural settlements are studied by using participatory rural assessment,IS and remote sensing images.Structural evolution characteristics and driving forces are studied. The main conclusions are as follows:1)In this study, the internal land use of rural residential areas refers to the same land use units within the scope of village ownership.Based on the basic land types of rural residential areas, the internal land use structure of rural residential areas is characterized. The internal land use structure of rural residential areas refers to the land use types within the ownership scope of a certain time node, which constitute a mosaic land use structure,as well as the transformation process between different land use types of rural residential areas at different time points.2)From the perspective of land use scale change, the scale of rural residential land in Puqian Village has experienced three stages: rapid expansion, accelerated expansion and slow expansion;from the perspective of land use type change, the diversification index of land use types in Puqian Village has gradually increased, and the trend of land use structure has been diversified. From the perspective of spatial structure evolution,it is found that the spatial structure of rural residential land in Puqian Village has experienced three development modes: sprawling expansion, jumping expansion and filling development. The transfer matrix analysis reveals the dynamic evolution process of the spatial structure of rural residential land in detail. From the perspective of functional structure evolution, the perfection of public service facilities in rural residential areas is constantly increasing;agricultural production function is gradually weakening, with weak non-agriculturalproduction function.Although the life function has undergone a process of stabilization and acceleration,it is still the dominant function, and the ecological function is obviously weakened due to internal land competition in the middle and late stages.3)The change of rural residential land is the result of multiple factors. The driving factors of rural residential land change are different in different periods.Among them, population and family structure factors dominate the change of land use scale in villages, and "population just needs" runs through the whole research period;good road traffic conditions have a strong inductive effect;natural conditions have a phased driving force on land use in villages, which plays a great role in the early economic growth, social and economic factors in the middle and later stages exceed natural conditions, and farmers’ demand in the later stage.Leading land use change.
