Land is a valuable natural resource that provides great help to the survival and development of human beings. It has the finiteness and the relative nature of sustainable use,and there might be some conflicts between human development and the protection of land resources. Thus,it is a hot spot to maintain the balance between and develop the economy on the basis of protecting the land resources from being destroyed in current research.Considering subjective qualitative classification is not rigorous enough, quantitative classification is complex and hard to be converted. The objective of this paper is undertaken to construct an ecological-living-productive land classification system to reclassify the land by the semi-quantitative method. In view of the urgent need for the coordinated development of ecology and economy in Hebei Province, taking the balance of the distribution of land use types in the eleven cities in the province as the research object, using location entropy,Lorenz curve,Gini coefficient and centralization index,to plan the urban spatial structure of Hebei Province. As a result,it is expected that all cities in the province can develop together in a healthy way.The final conclusions are as follows:(1)In this paper, the land can be divided into five primary land classifications according to the functions: productive-ecological land,ecological-productive land, ecological land,living-productive land,productive-living land.(2)In the study of the urban spatial structure of Hebei Province, the results of the four statistical models of location entropy,Lorenz curve,Gini coefficient and centralization index are basically consistent and can be mutually confirmed. The distribution of ecological-productive land,living-productive land is uneven. The distribution of ecological-productive land in Chengde and Qinhuangdao are significantly higher than the provincial average, while the distribution of living-productive land in Langfang and Hengshui are significantly higher than the average value.(3)The ecological-productive land in Chengde and Qinhuangdao are well protected, but the occupation of living-productive land in Langfang and Hengshui is too much.Langfang and Hengshui should pay more attention to the protection of ecological environment and minimize the occupation of ecological land.Chengde and Qinhuangdao can moderately strengthen economic development while maintaining a good ecological environment.
