A Study On Location Selection Of Overseas Factories For Chinese Photovoltaic Enterprises

After more than ten years of development,China's photovoltaic industry has become a strategic emerging industry with international competitive advantages,accounting for more than 50% of it's global production scale.At the same time,with the multiple backgrounds of domestic overcapacity,new round of international trade barriers,new market development,and national “Belt and Road” policy guidance,Chinese PV companies have gradually chosen to invest in overseas factories in recent years covering nearly 20 countries and the tendency of globlization of production layout has been becoming more and more apparent.Taking the location selection of Chinese photovoltaic companies' overseas factories as a research topic,and on the theories basis of location,OFDI,OFDI drivers and the factors affecting location selection,this article sum up the status and characteristics of location choices of existing Chinese PV companies' overseas factories through analyzing the time of production,product category,scale and national as well as urban location layout.Through analyzing the impact of market,cost,resources,policies,and cultural factors on the location selection of PV companies,umarizing the risks in politics,commerce,operation and management,selecting company C as a case to analyze the process,existing problems and enlightenment of location selection in Turkey,the article indicate the future development trend of Chinese PV companies' overseas factories,propose location selection proposals for Chinese PV companies planning to build plants overseas,and make recommendations from the perspectives of optimizing the location selection process,relying on overseas industrial parks,and business model innovation.
