Research On The Relationship Between Entrepreneurial Orientation And Performance Of Born Global Firms

Since the early 1990s,with the globalization of the market,and the advancement of information and communication technology,production methods,transportation and international logistics,born global firms have developed rapidly.The importance of this type of enterprise to economic development is increasing.In this context,the issue of how born global firms improve their own performance has not only become an important issue for corporate thinking,but also a hot topic for academic research..This paper takes born global firms as the research object,adopts the literature research method and the empirical analysis method.Moreover,this paper discusses the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation,internationalization degree and enterprise performance.After literature review,entrepreneurial orientation is divided into two dimensions: innovation and risk-taking,and enterprise performance is studied from two dimensions: short-term profitability and long-term growth.After the theoretical hypothesis,this paper mainly discusses the four pairs of relationships,the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on corporate performance,the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on internationalization degree,the impact of internationalization degree on performance,and the intermediate effect of internationalization degree on the impact of entrepreneurial orientation on performance.Then,the theoretical model of this paper is constructed.In the empirical research part,this paper selects 30 born global firms which listed on the GEM and SME board as sample enterprises,and uses the data analysis software to carry out hypothesis verification and result discussion.The main findings of this paper are as follows:1)Innovation has a significant negative impact on the profitability of born global firms;2)Risk-taking has a significant negative impact on the profitability of born global firms;3)Risk-taking has a significant negative impact on the growth ability of born global firms;4)Innovative has a significant negative impact on internationalization degree;5)Internationalization degree has a significant positive impact on the profitability of born global firms;6)Internationalization degree has a significant negative impact on the growth ability of born global firms;7)Internationalization degree plays a full intermediate effect on the relationship between innovation and the profitability of born global firms;8)Internationalization degree plays a full intermediate effect on the relationship between innovation and the growth ability of born global firms;9)Internationalization degree plays a partial intermediate effect on the relationship between risk-taking and the profitability of born global firms;10)Internationalization degree plays a partial intermediate effect on the relationship between risk-taking and the growth ability of born global firms.In conclusion,this paper provides four suggestions for China's born global enterprises: First,China's born global firms should focus on innovation and the creation of long-term value.Second,in the domestic context,born global enterprises need to find their own risk preference,which is neither suitable for too conservative business mode nor too risky business mode.Third,enterprises should choose the appropriate internationalization way.Finally,born global enterprises should move toward higher international market participation and improve the level of participation in the international division of labor,so as to enhance the interests and status of enterprises.
