Research On The Impact Of Industrial Agglomeration On The International Competitiveness Of Sichuan Manufacturing Industry

The agglomeration of production factors is one of the most important characteristics of economic development.Industrial agglomeration has made important contributions to the improvement of manufacturing competitiveness in China.However,with the continuous development of agglomeration,some industries have already appeared crowding effect.The impact of industrial agglomeration on international competitiveness is based on manufacturing industry.It does not reveal the difference impacts on subdivision manufacturing industry.Based on the perspective of industrial heterogeneity and the data of26 manufacturing industries in Sichuan province among 2007-2016.The impact of agglomeration on international competitiveness and the differences in industry are investigated by the two-way fixed effect model.The results show that: specialization agglomeration and agglomeration competition have negative effects on the international competitiveness of manufacturing industry in Sichuan Province,and diversification is conducive to the improvement of Sichuan manufacturing competitiveness.There are significant differences in the three economic effects of industrial agglomeration on the international competitiveness of different manufacturing industries in Sichuan.Specialized agglomeration promotes the international competitiveness of resources,labor and technology intensive industries,but is not conducive to the promotion of the international competitiveness of capital intensive industries.Diversification has enhanced the international competitiveness of capital and technology intensive significantly,but hinders the development of international competitiveness of resources and labor intensive industries.The competitive effect of agglomeration has hindered the international competitiveness of resources and labor intensive industries,and improved the international competitiveness of capital and technology intensive industries significantly.Therefore,we should formulate a guiding policy for the development of industrial agglomeration according to the actual situation of different manufacturing industries inSichuan Province.so as to enhance the international competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in Sichuan.
