A Study On The China's New Commercialized Model In Elderly Care: House-rented Elderly Support

In recent years,population aging is becoming a serious problem across the world.With the prolongation of the average human life expectancy in our country as well as the acceleration of our entering into the aging society,the time span of aging support is lengthened from the vertical perspective,and the population of the elders expands by the horizontal comparison.In such case,it is estimated that the aging people who is over 65 will exceed 300 million in 2025,in other words,one out of five is the aged.Elderly care,is increasingly becoming a hot spot to be noted.In the long course of our history,home care is the mainstream model in aged care which has continued for thousands of years.The cultural foundation for such tradition comes from the Confucian family ethics.Under a high fertility rate and low life expectancy,the population structure for a family is regular triangle with the elders on the upper level.There are enough hands to care about the elderly.But in modern society,with a low fertility rate and high life expectancy,the family structure turns into inverted triangle.Meanwhile,influenced by factors like fast-paced work conditions and policies in raising the retirement age,it seems that the traditional long-term care for the elderly is becoming increasingly difficult to adapt to the changes in our current economic and social environment.Government-established elderly care is another model in our country,as a supplement to the home care.Although the government has invested heavily,the result is not satisfactory.Reviewing the development course in foreign countries as well as proceeding from our national conditions,it indicates that such model is not effectively fulfill the increasing demands in elderly care.In such occasion,our government has promulgated policies one after another to encourage the private investments entering into the elderly care market,which brings new opportunities to the development of the commercialized nursing industry.This paper adopts several ways on the study,including Documentary Analysis,Comparative Analysis and Questionnaire Survey.Firstly,it demonstrates the present situations in elderly care at home and aboard and shares us the related theoretical methods.Secondly,by conducting an online questionnaire survey on the elderly and their children,we can find that the elderly incline to be cared at home instead of beadhouse with satisfactory nursing service.In the last part,it makes a research on the domestic existing commercialized elderly care models,and analyses the state of operation.The introduction of the process and main patterns in foreign countries provides us a good experience in developing and setting up the commercialized model in elderly care.On the base of the connotations such as People Oriented,Hierarchy of Needs,Business Model and Sharing Economy as well as the opportunities and policies in current society,this paper puts forward a planning to develop the commercialized elderly care model,and conceives of a new pattern—House-rented elderly support,that is,renting a house for the elderly care use.In such a rented house,the elderly can not only get the nursing service but also have the company of their children.What a really good way to satisfy both the elderly and their children.Elderly care customers,including the elderly and their children,and elderly care institutions are the two major participants.The customer's demand is fulfilled by living in such a rented house.As the operator of the house,the institution achieves a good economic profit.In this case,a firmly relationship is set up in such a new model by keeping the good points of both.Finally,this paper gives feasibility analysis,and puts forward some supplementary suggestions in terms of the existing problems,including the government strategic layout,corresponding support from the society and the transformation of public consciousness.Every one of us is closely related to the elderly care,no matter who you are.By doing a study on the issue,I'm willing to find a new direction in exploring the commercialized elderly care model and endeavor to establish a bidirectional system on the intention and the commercial value in elderly care.The development in the elderly care industry will benefit all,including our parents and future us.
