Natural rubber is an important economic strategic material in Thailand. The production of natural rubber covers agriculture and industry. It has also become the main raw material of industrial production in four modern societies together with steel, oil and coal.At present,Thai natural rubber ranks second in the world in planting area, only less than Indonesia, and ranks first in the world in natural rubber production.Of the rubber produced in Thailand,40% is exported to the international market.Thai rubber export volume has maintained a sustained growth momentum.Although Thailand's natural rubber output and export volume are the first in the world, there are still many problems worthy of attention in the development of the rubber industry, such as limited planting area, fluctuations in the international market, the impact of political instability on the development of the rubber industry, and so on.These problems may lead to the market share of Thai natural rubber exports shifting to other countries. However, with the rapid development of automobile industry and large construction machinery, the demand for natural rubber will also increase.Based on the comparative advantage theory, resource endowment theory and competitive advantage theory, this paper studies the competitiveness of Thai rubber trade and its influencing factors by using the method of problem elaboration and mathematical statistics analysis. The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces the background, purpose and significance of the research, reviews the current research situation at home and abroad, and introduces the research.Content, research ideas and innovation of the paper.Chapter 2 elaborates the basic theories of the study, including Adam Smith's theory of absolute advantage,David Ricardo's theory of comparative advantage,Michael Porter's theory of competitive advantage and Heckschel's theory of resource endowment advantage.Chapter 3 analyses the current situation of Thai natural rubber industry and trade, including the basic situation of Thai rubber industry,Thai rubber production situation,Thai rubber industry policy,Thai rubber production,Thai rubber competition country production situation,Thai rubber export situation,Thai rubber import situation,Thai rubber export market structure,Thai rubber main trading country market situation,Thai rubber industry policy. The trade situation of rubber competing countries and so on.Chapter 4 analyzed the trade competitiveness and influencing factors of Thai natural rubber. The analysis of Thai natural rubber competitiveness mainly analyzed the export market share(MS),dominant comparative advantage index(RCA)and trade competitive advantage index of Thai rubber. The least square method was used to analyze the influencing factors of Thai natural rubber trade competitiveness and the analysis results were obtained.Chapter 5 puts forward the existing problems and corresponding countermeasures of Thai natural rubber trade according to the previous analysis. This paper argues that there are some problems in Thai natural rubber trade in terms of human resources quality, production and management, industrial organization, technology research and development and investment. The countermeasures and suggestions put forward in this paper include improving the quality of human resources, strengthening production management, reducing production costs, improving the organizational structure of natural rubber industry, and attaching importance to technological research and development and investment.
