The real estate industry has always been an important pillar of China's market economy,and has played a very important role in the development of various industries,occupying a very important position in the process of China's economic development.However,the corporate performance of listed companies in real estate has not increased significantly in recent years.Therefore,how to improve the corporate performance of real estate listed companies has become a hot issue.Meanwhile,the executive compensation of real estate companies has also received extensive attention.From the annual reports disclosed by real estate listed companies in recent years,it can be seen that executive compensation has generally increased,and companies with higher executive compensation growth than the corporate performance.This phenomenon makes people wonder,is there a relationship between executive compensation and corporate performance? Domestic and foreign scholars are also very concerned about the relationship between executive compensation and corporate performance,but due to the influence of analysis methods,age,sample and other factors,they have not obtained a more unified research conclusion.So for China's real estate industry,is there a relationship between executive compensation and corporate performance? What is the relationship? This paper will explore these.This paper uses qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis to research the relationship between executive compensation and corporate performance.On the basis of theoretical analysis,the empirical research was carried out using the data of real estate listed companies of Shanghai and Shenzhen A-shares,and finally put forward relevant suggestions.This paper first reviews the basic content of executive compensation,corporate performance and the relationship between executive compensation and corporate performance.Secondly,defining the concept and characteristics of the real estate industry,and then analyzed by the annual report data of real estate listed companies,including the characteristics of executive compensation and development characteristics.Thirdly,through the analysis of the theory and the current situation,the relevant variables of this study are selected to further propose the hypothesis of this study.The research model was constructed.The data of 116 Shanghai and Shenzhen A-share real estate listed companies from 2012 to 2017 were analyzed.The annual analysis showed that there is a positive correlation between executive compensation and corporate performance except for some years.Panel analysis shows that there is a positive correlation between executive compensation and corporate performance.In general,executive compensation have a positive effect on corporate performance;Finally,through the empirical results and hypothesis testing,relevant corporate management recommendations are proposed.It is hoped that this research can be used as a reference for real estate companies to improve their performance,and help the development of real estate enterprises in China.
