Since the 1990 s,along with a series of market-oriented reform measures in the telecommunications industry,China's telecommunications infrastructure has achieved leap-forward development, from the serious shortage of supply to the leading direction of world telecommunications technology, and has gradually become an important support for economic development.Investment construction of telecommunications infrastructure,in addition to acting as capital investment directly on economic growth, can improve the accessibility of factor flows, reduce information asymmetry, optimize resource allocation, and improve economic efficiency.Based on the network and external characteristics of telecommunications infrastructure, this paper examines the spatial spillover effects of telecommunications infrastructure on economic efficiency, and then determines its mechanism of action on regional economic impact. This paper takes telecommunications infrastructure as the research object, measures regional economic efficiency with total factor productivity, and uses the 2005-2016 Chinese provincial panel data to test the spatial spillover effect of telecommunication infrastructure on regional total factor productivity under the spatial econometric model. The research finds that:(1)telecommunication infrastructure has a significant positive spatial spillover effect on China's total factor productivity, but the regional differences are obvious: the spatial spillover effect in the eastern and western regions is significant, but There is a spatial spillover effect in central region only under 0-1 weights;(2)the direct effect of telecommunication infrastructure on total factor productivity also has spatial heterogeneity;the direct effect in the eastern region is significantly positive, while the direct effect in the central and western regions is significantly negative;(3)There is a significant spatial autocorrelation of factor productivity.Based on the above main research conclusions, this paper proposes corresponding policy recommendations for different regions.
