With the development of economic globalization and the increasing degree of informatization,the business model of traditional clothing brands has undergone tremendous changes.Many internationally renowned fast fashion brands have entered the Chinese market and quickly became popular with their fast,fashionable and low-priced features,and brought new sales models to local brands in China.This has led some traditional clothing brands to transform and move towards fast fashion.However,due to the short operating time of this model in the domestic market.Therefore,some enterprises have problems to be solved,such as long product development cycle,insufficient style design strength and relatively high cost.Concurrent product development is a systematic product development method,which can design products in concurrent and integrally.The core idea is to consider the manufacturability,purchasability,customer satisfaction and other factors of the product life cycle in the initial stage of product development,in order to shorten the product development cycle and reduce the development cost.At present,concurrent engineering is mainly applied to the assembly manufacturing industry led by the automobile industry,aerospace industry and industrial machinery industry,while there are few researches on the application of it in the fast fashion clothing industry and the product development supported by the product lifecycle management environment.Therefore,on the basis of case study,enterprise internship,expert interview and a large number of literature research,this paper conducts a series of studies on the development process of fast fashion brand clothing.The aim is to analyze and summarize the specific process and significance of applying concurrent engineering to fast fashion apparel,in order to provide a useful reference for the garment enterprises in transition.Firstly,this paper summarizes the development status of domestic and international fast fashion brands in China’s market,and takes ZARA as an example to study the model of fast fashion brand product development,and expounds its entire rapid reaction process and cycle.It is found that ZARA leads the fashion through rapid product development system,and shortens product development cycle and improves production efficiency through concurrent engineering,delayed manufacturing strategy,outsourcing of some businesses and other strategies.Improve distribution efficiency through efficient logistics system.The timely and rapid feedback of sales information from the sales side can be adjusted quickly to promote the efficient operation of different links of the supply chain.The application of this model alleviates the problems of inaccurate forecast and excessive inventory in the garment industry.Then,the paper expounds the concept and characteristics of the integrated product team,which is the organizational model of concurrent engineering.According to its formation principles and member selection criteria,and based on the principle of concurrent product development and PLM idea,this paper studies the organization mode of concurrent product development of fast fashion clothing,constructs an integrated product team mode suitable for the development of fast fashion clothing products,and puts forward strategic suggestions on the guarantee mechanism and coordination management method of the team.Finally,based on some internship experience of the author,interviews with professionals and references to relevant literature and materials,this paper studies the concurrent development process of H brand’s China-themed sweatshirt.On the basis of introducing the relevant background of H brand,this paper briefly describes the reasons for choosing sweatshirt as a research object for concurrent development,constructs and analyzes the organizational structure of concurrent development of H brand products,analyzes and summarizes the product development and operation process from information collection to mass production,and establishes a model for the actual process of the concurrent development of the H-brand’s China-themed sweatshirt,and summarizes the concurrent development model of H brand products.It is found that the product development time of H brand was shortened by at least one third compared with the traditional serial product development mode through the application of concurrent product development mode.By analyzing the application of the parallel development of H brand hooded fabric,it is found that determining the fabric type in advance and preparing materials in advance can save half of the fabric preparation time and provide favorable conditions for the smooth development of hooded fabric.This provides a reference for the product development of domestic fast fashion clothing brands.
