Since the reform and opening up,China's beef production has grown from less than 230,000 tons to 7.26 million tons in 2017.At the same time,the continuous improvement of household consumption levels and the improvement of dietary structure have prompted the per capita beef consumption of our residents to increase from 0.3kg to 5.8kg in 2017.As a result,there is a clear shortage of Chinese beef supply.Since 2012,the gap in Chinese beef supply has increased from 53,000 tons to 967,000 tons.Chinese beef imports have continued to increase as the beef demand gap has increased.The article studies the current Chinese beef import structure and market power to clarify the current basic situation of China's annual beef imports,Proposed policy recommendations to meet current and future demand for Chinese beef consumption by analyzing the current status and main problems of the Chinese beef market.Policy recommendations to achieve a mitigation of beef consumption needs and promote the development of the beef market.To relieve beef consumption demand and promote beef market development.The article mainly includes the following parts: Firstly,the analysis and prediction of beef consumption and supply and demand.Analysis of the growth trend according to Chinese beef consumption and changes in household beef consumption and the research on beef consumption in the main producing countries;Through the analysis of beef production,the results show that the current growth rate of China's beef supply shows a downward trend.Forecasting future beef consumption and production shows that the demand gap in the Chinese beef market is increasing.Secondly,analyze the structural characteristics of the beef market in China and the source countries.Through the analysis of the source country,industrial structure and trade amount of Chinese beef imports,Chinese beef imports are mainly cold meat and frozen beef,of which Australia is the main source of Chinese cold meat imports,2007-2017 Chinese frozen beef The main source countries of imports are Uruguay,Australia and New Zealand,and the number of Chinese beef exported by various countries is increasing.At the same time,China's beef imports accounted for an increasing number of total beef exports from the source countries,and the proportion of trade volume also changed.Since 2012,with the continuous increase in beef imports,countries such as Brazil,Argentina and Canada have increased to be the countries of origin for beef imports.By analyzing the structural characteristics of beef in the source country,China is currently a major importer of beef in Uruguay,Australia and New Zealand,which has an important impact on the volume of trade in the country of origin.Finally,the paper analyzes the domestic beef import market power and the import availability of the international market.Combining the Pricing To Market(PTM)theory to construct the residual demand model,the time series data of 2007.1-2017.12 is selected to study the Chinese beef import market power,and analyze Uruguay.The trade relationship between Australia and New Zealand and Chinese beef imports shows that these three countries have strong competitive relationships in the Chinese market.According to the analysis of China's beef availability in the international market,according to the current growth situation,the future world beef import market can not meet the future Chinese beef consumption demand,so China needs to further increase domestic beef production.Through the above research,the article puts forward three main suggestions for realizing the demand for domestic beef: first,adhere to appropriate imports and enhance domestic supply;second,make full use of the competitive relationship in the international market to optimize the import structure of beef imports;third,regulate beef imports.And beef supply structure in different regions to promote balanced supply of beef.
