G·A·Cohen(Gerald Allan Cohen,1941-2009)as an analysis of the founder and leader of the Marxist,Cohen's study of historical materialism changed the indifference of Marxism in the academic circles of the Anglo-American region,and also made the historical materialism a western Marxist academic research an important element.Cohen has made a contribution to the clarification of the basic concepts and principles of historical materialism,and the interpretation of historical materialism is also flawed.In particular,he denies the causal inevitability of materialism in the view of law.A functional explanation.Cohen's theory of productive forces is basically based on the interpretation and reconstruction of Marx's concept of productive forces,mainly from the redefinition of the basic concepts,the basic propositions and the use of functional interpretation of these three angles.The logical clue of this dissertation is Cohen's productivity theory.Colinking on Cohen's thinking on the reconstruction of Marx's theory of productive forces,explaining the basic concepts involved in Cohen's productivity theory,introducing Cohen's argument on the two basic propositions of Marx's theory of productive forces by means of functional explanation,It reflects the main point of view of Cohen's productivity theory and gives a brief comment on it.Systematically combing and elaborating Cohen's theory of productive forces helps us to strengthen our own profound and comprehensive grasp of historical materialism and Marx's basic theoretical system.It can further develop the historical materialism in light of the new problems confronting the society today and make it keeps its truth.
