Inventory as a double-edged sword,on the one hand,its existence can balance the differences between supply and demand,prevent accidents in production and operation to maintain the normal operation;on the other hand,excessive inventory usually takes a large number of working capital.Due to the influence of the fashion trend,once the apparel is backlogged down,its value will rapidly depreciate.In order to clean up the inventory,enterprises often have to adopt the traditional method-discount promotion,which has a great impact on the brand and profitability of enterprises.At present,'high inventory' has become a common problem of apparel enterprises.Such enterprises want to develop in the context of ever-changing market demand.Solving the inventory management problem is the most important.After sorting out and summarizing the relevant literature at home and abroad,combined with practical experience and data collection,the paper chooses MT Garments Company as the research object,mainly studies its inventory management issues.Starting with the basic situation of MT company,the paper confirms the fact that the company's inventory backlog is serious by data.Through analysis and summary,the following three problems exist in its inventory management: first,excessive inventory;second,serious inventory impairment;third,high procurement cost of inventory.After analyzing the impact of these problems and digging out the reasons behind them,starting from the aspects of inventory accounting,budget management,warehousing and transportation as well as procurement,this paper combines the inventory management method to optimize the company's inventory management from multiple perspectives and improve its inventory management in an all-round and systematic way from three inventory management methods: Activity Based Classification,Just in time and Jointly Managed Inventory.In order to consolidate the effect of optimization,according to the conditions and specific optimization measures of inventory management method,three safeguard measures are put forward: Firstly,improve the performance evaluation system;secondly,speed up the flow of information;finally,use a large number of data to refine management.This paper hopes to really help MT company solve the problem of inventory,optimize supply chain,promote further improvement of production and operation,improve the profitability of the company and achieve long-term development.For other companies in the apparel industry,the solutions proposed in this paper have a certain reference significance.At the same time,I hope that the case study of inventory management based on inventory management method in this paper can further enrich the theory and application research in related fields.
