Under the background of trade liberalization,economic globalization,regional economic integration,internet e-commerce and the deteriorating business environment at home and abroad,the development of China's private enterprises' foreign trade sector is facing double challenges from the international and domestic sides.And competition among the industry is becoming more and more fierce.The foreign trade sector of enterprises can not gain a continuous competitive advantage simply by providing production efficiency and internal management level.External factors such as the market share of the enterprise,the competitiveness of the enterprise in the same industry field,customer maintenance,customer satisfaction,and employee satisfaction should also be considered to enhance the overall competitiveness of the enterprise's foreign trade sector and the resilience of the market.Therefore,to optimize and implement a scientific,complete,objective and reasonable performance appraisal system suitable for enterprises is a top priority for the development of enterprises,which can improve the comprehensive combat capabilities of enterprises and their foreign trade department employees,increase market share in the international and domestic markets,gain a place in the market and promote the joint development of enterprises and foreign trade personnel.This article expounded the concept and method of performance appraisal,and difficulties in the process of implementation.By discoursing KPI and balanced scorecard performance indicators,and referencing to the development literature of performance appraisal system at domestic and abroad,the development process and internal and external environment of GL enterprise are analyzed.According to the human resources situation of the foreign trade department of GL enterprise,analyzing the problems of the current performance appraisal system,making a satisfaction survey.Regarding to the product development trend of GL enterprise and five-year strategic plan,every staff in foreign trade department were investigated and analyzed about current existing problems of performance appraisal.
