Generally speaking, law firms in Yunnan province are small,scattered, poor managed. The paper takes P Law Firm as an example, which is in an urgent need to enhance the ability to resist risks in the fierce competition.The paper is based on the researches about theories and practices of the BSC home and abroad, analyzes the present performance appraisal system of P law firm by questionnaires and interviews. And then finds out the problems, based on which analyzes the effective factors.Subsequently, the author puts forward the importance of BSC, which is effective on the unit's long-term sustainability and competitive advantage in P law firm. The author expounds and proves the feasibility of the BSC by comparing the characteristics of P Law Firm and BSC in enterprises. The author selected performance index initially by statistics on questionnaires in present performance index of practicing lawyers, and finally determined the assessment of the indicators of BSC for lawyers. The author determines the weight of the indicators at all levels by AHP, based on which draws the final target weight. In addition, the author adjusted target weights partly depended on the qualifications and record of service of counsels in P law firm.Finally, the author suggested P law firm to build Strategy-Focused Organization to deal with the problems they may face in the implementation of BSC, which is significant for the future development of BSC in law firms.
