In the 1990s,Kaohsiung Port took over 70%of Taiwan's offshore loading and unloading volume,and its ranking in the global container throughput ranks in the top three for many years.However,with cross-strait trade from "frozen" to "direct flight",the container throughput of Kaohsiung Port is gradually increasing while the world ranking continues to decline.By 2018,the Kaohsiung port container throughput ranking has dropped to 15 global rankings.The purpose of the thesis study is to analyze the causes of this "abnormal phenomenon" in Kaohsiung Port.The research content of the thesis includes:cross-strait trade mode.From the past "re-export trade","mini three links" to "direct flight",whether the container throughput of Kaohsiung Port is"divided" by Keelung and Taichung ports,or Taiwan In the change of trade patterns between the two sides of the strait,whether the industrial structure of the economic hinterland of Taiwan,especially the Kaohsiung port,has changed.This change includes the transition of the industrial structure from low added value to high added value,which makes the containerization rate of containers in Taiwan decline,which may cause the Kaohsiung port to decline in global container throughput.In view of this "abnormal" economic phenomenon in Kaohsiung Port,the paper adopts the econometric method:introducing the econometric theory through the origin,establishing the "containerization rate" as an endogenous variable,and the cross-strait trade volume as a one-dimensional model of exogenous variables.Through the use of data on the container volume of Kaohsiung Port and cross-strait trade volume,the"containerization rate" indicator of the economic hinterland of Kaohsiung Port is obtained.The results of the study show that the "containerization rate" indicator of the economic hinterland of Kaohsiung Port has increased from 2060 per TEU in 1991 to 10,144 US dollars per TEU in 2018,an increase of 392.4%.It shows that the change of cross-strait trade mode has promoted the transformation of industrial structure from labor-intensive to capital-intensive or technology-intensive in Taiwan,which is the main reason for the decline in container throughput of Kaohsiung Port.The innovations of the thesis include:1.The measurement index of the "containerization rate" of the container is cited;2.The environmental economic analysis of Kaohsiung Port is carried out.
