Evaluation On Competitiveness Of Xiamen Port And Kaohsiung Port And Study On Strategies Of Their Cooperation Development

Xiamen port and Kaohsiung port are the two major container ports around Taiwan Strait. But in recent years, the two ports are in the disadvantageous situation port competition with the rapid rise of the neighboring ports. So it is imminent how to give full play to the complementary advantages between the two ports together to enhance the overall competitiveness of the two ports in the context of the full liberalization of cross-strait. Therefore, study the factors which influence the competitiveness of Xiamen port and Kaohsiung port, and evaluate the two ports competitiveness.And then,to make targeted collaborative development strategies based on the results of the comparative.These strategies will help Xiamen port will strengthen the close cooperation with Kaohsiung port,and create a Development Mechanism of mutual benefit, complementary advantages, positive interaction.Firstly, the article stated the characteristics of the port competitive. All kinds of factors which affect the competitiveness of the port are analyzed. According to the basic rules of the port competitive evaluation index system, an index system for the port competitive was established.Secondly, several evaluation methods commonly used in the port competitive evaluation was analyzed, and so were their advantages and disadvantages. The AHP-Fuzzy comprehensive assessment method combined and Fuzzy Theory and the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) was selected, because the factors which influence the port competitive have both fuzziness and uncertainty. The paper expounded the principle and procedure of AHP-fuzzy comprehensive assessment method, and it described the evaluation model of the port competitive in detail. It included the port competitive index system, the weight, the score of the port competitive..Finally, combined with the concrete example, using the AHP-Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model, it got the scores of each index factors and total score.. According to the result of the port competitive assessment, the cooperation development strategies were put forward.
