| The joint-stock commercial banks play an important role in the whole banking system.12 national joint-stock commercial banks account for about 18% of the total assets of the banking industry, and the total amount of loans and advances is second only to the five state-owned banks.Under the pressure of the growth of net profit in the banking industry,it is of great practical significance to find out what factors affect the operating efficiency of joint-stock commercial banks so as to improve the efficiency of indirect financing.Firstly, this paper selects four indicators, equity concentration, strategic investors, capital adequacy ratio and non-performing loan ratio, uses stochastic frontier profit model to estimate, and discusses the overall impact of these factors on operating efficiency. The empirical findings of this part are as follows: firstly, the operating efficiency of joint-stock commercial banks is generally good in recent years;secondly, equity concentration and the introduction of strategic investors can promote the improvement of operating efficiency, among which the introduction of foreign strategic investors has a slightly greater role;finally, the core capital adequacy ratio will inhibit the improvement of operating efficiency in the short term, while the current non-performing loan ratio shows Negative effect, but not significant. The second part attempts to explore how these factors affect the operating efficiency of joint-stock commercial banks over time. For this reason, this paper introduces the panel vector autoregressive model to explore the impact of core capital adequacy ratio, non interest income ratio and lnGDP on the operating efficiency of joint-stock commercial banks. This part of the treatment makes this paper different from the previous literature using OLS,which can observe the nonlinear effect of the influencing factors, and thus avoid the bias caused by truncated regression. The empirical results show that the core capital adequacy ratio will reduce the operating efficiency in the short term, and theincrease of the proportion of non interest income will improve the operating efficiency, while GDP has a positive impact on the operating efficiency after one year. The proportion of non interest business has a greater impact.Based on the above research, this paper suggests that: first of all,we should develop non interest business properly to promote the operation efficiency of joint-stock commercial banks, but also pay attention to the structural relationship of non interest business,so that banks can achieve business diversification within the scope of risk control.Secondly, the introduction of foreign strategic investors to improve the operating efficiency of joint-stock commercial banks, but also to pay attention to the conditions of its positive role.Consider its role at the level of the whole industry and economic system to maintain financial stability and truly promote its ability to serve the real economy. |
