Nowadays, the ownership structure and green credit of listed Banks in China has been a hot issue which get great attention from the public and the media.Chinese commercial Banks also make effort on shares reform policy, but it still exists problems on equity concentration and ownership structure, etc.Chinese commercial Banks need more by improving governance structure so as to improve the quality of credit.Meanwhile,in recent years, with the rapid improvement of the economy, the environmental problems in the world are becoming more and more serious that causing global attention. As a new financial product supported by the state, green credit is an important financial means to promote the development of green economy. At present, though Chinese green credit has achieved certain development under the promotion of national policies, the green credit level of China's commercial Banks is still facing problems such as the low development level, the lack of transparency of corporate environment disclosure, and the lack of innovation of green financial products.Taking Chinese listed Banks as the research object, this paper explains the effects and functions of the bank's ownership structure to green credit by theoretical analysis and empirical test.Firstly,we summarize the recent literature, define the connotation of relevant concepts, and mainly explains effects and functions of the ownership structure through relevant theories such as corporate governance. Then by analyzing the current situation of ownership structure and green credit, the result shows that the equity in sixteen Chinese banks is relatively high concentrated but the green credit is relatively low. Finally,we analyze the influence of the ownership structure on green credit mechanism from the perspective of ownership concentration and equity, respectively. The theoretical analysis shows that the bank with high level equity concentration orlow level do not have good green credit, while the bank with relative equity concentration has good green credit.Meanwhile,in order to clarify the relationship between the commercial bank ownership structure and the level of green credit, this paper takes 13 representative listed banks in China as research objects, manually collecting the related data in 2012-2018.We make an empirical analysis of the relationship between ownership structure and green credit level through descriptive statistical analysis, correlation statistical analysis, multiple regression analysis and data indicators. The regression results show that,in terms of equity concentration, the higher the shareholding ratio of the top five shareholders, the higher the level of green credit in commercial banks, which is consistent with the theoretical analysis. This shows that the relative concentration of assets has a positive effect on the level of credit business and anti-risk ability, and is more conducive to the development of green credit business. In terms of the nature of equity, the proportion of state-owned shares is positively correlated with the green credit level of commercial Banks. The reason is that China's commercial Banks are state-owned Banks.Under the guidance of the government,Banks need to perform corresponding social responsibility foreign capital shares and the green credit level are positively correlated, but the correlation is not significant, which needs to be further studiede. Finally, based on the result of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, this paper summarizes the research conclusions and puts forward relevant suggestions to improve the level of green credit in commercial banks.(1)Check and balance the major shareholders of the bank, making the equity structure of the commercial bank reach "relatively concentrated, multi share check and balance";(2)maintain the status quo of state-owned shares and introduce foreign shares, and learn the environmental disclosure report of foreign-funded enterprises;(3)we will further standardize the green credit risk management system;(4)establishing an environmental information sharing mechanism to maintain the authenticity andeffectiveness of green credit information;(5)developing innovative products related to green finance,so as to achieve win-win situation among customers, banks and the environment and truly achieve environmentally sustainable development.
