With the development of economy and society, food culture, diet concept and diet structure have gradually changed, and beef is more and more welcomed and recognized by consumers. As the annual consumption of beef continues to increase,China's beef supply is obviously insufficient.Since 2009,China's beef supply gap has increased from 191,400 tons to 1,649,400 tons. With the growing demand gap for beef,China has to seek international market imports to resolve the contradiction between supply and demand in the Chinese beef market. The China-Australia Free Trade Agreement was signed on June 17,2015.For beef-type sensitive products, the average tariff on beef will be reduced from the current 15.5%to zero within 10 years. So,what impact will the signing of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement have on China's import of beef from Australia? How big is the impact? How should domestic related enterprises deal with the impact of the gradual reduction of tariff barriers after the signing of the FTA?These issues deserve further study.First of all, this paper summarizes and summarizes the relevant theories of trade liberalization and domestic and foreign literature reviews, providing a theoretical basis for the research and analysis of the article.Secondly, the status of China's domestic beef market and beef import trade were analyzed, and it was found that:(1)China's domestic beef supply-demand gap has become larger and larger.Between 2009 and 2018,the domestic beef supply-demand gap has increased sevenfold.Between 2004 and 2018,domestic beef prices rose by 296.67%.(2)The structure of China's imported beef from the world is diverse, and the importing trading countries are relatively concentrated. The trade volume and trade volume have increased year by year.(3)The amount of Chinese beef imports from Australia has been increasing year by year, and the import structure is diverse.(4)Australian beef has international competitiveness, and Chinese beef does not have international competitiveness.Chinese imports of Australian beef exports have strong trade complementarity in frozen beef and beef chopped products, and China's export of Australian beef imports does not have trade complementarity. Finally, the double-step method and the Heckman two-step method are used to analyze the trade impact of the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement on China's beef imports from Australia, and the empirical analysis is made using China's 2004-201 8 beef import volume related trade data. The regression results show that the signing of the China-Australia FTA has promoted the development of China's beef import trade from Australia and at the same time promoted China's beef trade with the entire international market. However, the expansion effect of Australia's beef import trade is greater than other beef import countries.Based on the above theoretical and empirical results, corresponding policy recommendations are proposed.
