Research On China-Yemen Bilateral Trade Under The Belt And Road Initiative

As a Yemeni student,the author always pays attention to the bilateral trade between China and Yemen.At present,China has occupied an increasingly important position in the international arena,and its trade is becoming increasingly close to many countries in the world."One Belt One Road" initiative has put China in a more important position in its trade cooperation with the Arabian Gulf countries,where Yemen is in a relatively underdeveloped position.In recent years,due to the civil war and the long-term economic downturn,Yemen urgently needs to seek help and impetus for economic reconstruction.For long-term development,it is of great significance to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with China.This paper studies the history,current situation and characteristics of trade between China and Yemen.Analysis of trade statistics in recent years shows that at present,the structure of import and export product mix between China and Yemen is relatively single.China mainly imports energy products,dominated by petroleum,from Yemen and exports such products as electromechanical,chemical,building materials etc.to Yemen.Admittedly,China and Yemen have a good trade history in the contemporary era,and there are many opportunities for Trade Development between China and Yemen.However,there are also many trade constraints between China and Yemen.Based on China's "One Belt One Road"background of new international reality,the paper discusses the problems that should be overcome in the import and export of the two countries,and focuses on the assistance that could be provided for the trade between China and Yemen by international public goods of"One Belt One Road",based with The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and The Silk Road Fund.Afterwards,the author delves into the development and the future of "One Belt One Road" initiative,discusses specific guidelines to strengthen the bilateral trade between China and Yemen.Generally speaking,this paper considers that China and Yemen have a good long-term economic and trade development prospects in the future and can have a lot of space for economic cooperation.In the future,China and Yemen can achieve cooperation in more categories and fields of the product trade.The two countries need their governments to strengthen mutual trust,need enterprises to deepen cooperation,need to follow the principle of equality,respect,mutual benefit and reciprocity,develop their own advantages,improve industrial competitiveness and attain effective economic cooperation and development.
