Under the new trend of the new round of scientific and technological revolution, the effect of innovation on urban development has become more apparent.Makerspace has developed into the cradle of innovation service platform and entrepreneurship incubation pool.Vigorously developing makerspace is a rational choice to adapt to the new normal of the economy. The development of the makerspace has condensed characteristics of China's innovation model, and has become an important subject for studying urban development and innovation-driven theories in various branches of economics. This paper explores the spatial distribution characteristics and influence mechanism of makerspace from the two levels—urban system and urban internal space,to provide empirical support for the design of such innovative industrial policies in China.First of all,I summarize the current development status of the makerspace from three perspectives of operation status, maker distribution status and profit model based on the international location theory and urban development theory.Second, the regional disparity and evolution trends of national-level makerspace in 35 key cities were estimated using the Dagum gini coefficient decomposition method. The results showed that the distribution of national-level makerspace in different cities is significantly different, but the overall difference is shrinking. The intra-regional gap of makerspace in the central region is the largest. The overall gap between the east-middle and east-west regions is large, and the gap between the middle-west regions is small. The gap between the eastern region and other regions is the main reason for the uneven distribution of makerspace.Third, the kernel density estimation method was used to characterize the internal spatial distribution of the makerspace in each key city, and several core cities like Beijing,Shanghai,Shenzhen,Wuhan,Chongqing, and Chengdu were selected for detailed description. The results showed that the national-level makerspace has formed a relatively obvious agglomeration pattern in the core areas of various cities, and the "circle structure" characteristics in some cities are obvious. Finally, the non-parametric test research method was used to analyze the causes of the regional differences in the spatial distribution of makerspace, and 12 indicators were constructed from three aspects: entrepreneurial resource factors, entrepreneurial environmental factors and social environmental factors. The results showed that all variables passed the test except that the degree of convenient transportation.Patent authorizations?scientific researchers?per capita GDP,and FDI have a significant positive effect on makerspace;the loan balance of financial institutions shows a certain negative effect. At the same time, policy suggestions were put forward to promote the healthy development of makerspace.
