In recent years,Zhejiang Province has a large number of industrial clusters of varying scales, but most of them are lacking in technology and innovation. In order to solve these problems,Zhejiang Province has developed the concept of "characteristic small towns",and achieved relatively good results in Zhejiang Province. At the time,China was leading the initial stage of the new normal with supply-side structural reform. While expanding the overall demand moderately,we must actively adjust the industrial structure. On the one hand,we must clean up excess and backward production capacity;on the other hand, while promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, accelerate the cultivation of strategic emerging industries, take innovation as the main driving force, improve the quality and efficiency of industrial development, and realize industrial modernization. So with the help of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Finance, the spring breeze of characteristic towns was blown across the country. The Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations,as an important part of the construction of characteristic towns, play an exemplary role in the development and construction of characteristic towns across the country and have important reference significance. This article takes the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations as the research area, takes 54 cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration,9 cities in the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration as research units. The data are based on 69 national characteristic towns in the Yangtze river delta city cluster,230 provincial characteristic towns and 10 national characteristic towns and 37 provincial characteristic towns in the pearl river delta city cluster.Use the average nearest distance,Tyson polygon, kernel density estimation, and spatial autocorrelation to analyze the spatial distribution status, grade and industry distribution characteristics, and spatial clustering characteristics of the study area. And establish spatial measurement models to analyze the influencing factors of the spatial distribution of characteristic towns. The main conclusions reached:(1)The coverage of national characteristic towns in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration is wider than that of the characteristic towns in the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration.Compared with national characteristic towns, the coverage rate of the provincial characteristic towns of the two has increased significantly, achieving full coverage of prefecture-level administrative units.(2)The national characteristic towns of the Yangtze River Delta are randomly distributed, and the provincial and all characteristic towns are clustered and distributed, and the degree of aggregation of the two is approximately equal; The national, provincial and all characteristic towns in the Pearl River Delta are clustered and distributed. The characteristic towns and clusters in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration are high. The clusters of characteristic towns in the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration are low,and the future development potential is large.(3)The growth of the number of characteristic towns in the Yangtze River Delta is less dependent on the economic foundation, industrial development status, and level of urbanization than the Pearl River Delta, and more dependent on the innovation of industrial clusters than the Pearl River Delta. Finally,it summarizes the research content of this article and puts forward relevant policy recommendations?...
