Product Engineering Change is almost an inevitable issue,which runs through the whole product life cycle.To varying degrees,it increases the time and cost of product development.The main purpose of carrying on change management is not to avoid alteration,but to make this process more effective.By that it means faster change processing speed and less side effects related to cost,quality,etc.This dissertation uses Chinese factory for Cummins as a starting point to discuss the main contradiction in product change management.It conducts research on three main challenges: crack-process flexibility,data management and conjunction management,and provides a creative problem-solving strategy combining with the characteristics of joint venture.Main works are as follows:First,elaborate current research status of engineering change management,analyze engineering change reasons from various perspectives,and explain purpose of product engineering alteration management.Secondly,build up product engineering change management model with change items,analyze its basic functions and business processes,and then put forward the challenge of change management when existing in the business enterprise: process standardization,process flexibility,data integration and conjunction management,etc.Moreover,research on process management combining with enterprise characteristics.Put forward to a data integration solution according to information isolated island in the process.And then study the release management during engineering change,use examples to analyze release management solutions.This dissertation through analyzing the model of product change management and teasing the process and data and conjunction for Cummins.Deeply analyze the question and submit the solution which can solve the issue of product change management for Cummins and all of manufacturing.
