A Research On The Spatial Development Strategy Of Small Cities And Towns In The Peripheral Areas Of Large Cities

From extensive contact with rural areas,to reducing the social pressure of "migrant workers' tide",to driving the development of "agriculture,rural areas and farmers",the value of small cities and towns has been promoted with the deepening of urbanization,and gradually become an important carrier of promoting new urbanization in China.However,there are many differences in the type,scale and urbanization stage of small cities and towns in China.From the perspective of the development power of small cities and towns,traditional small cities and towns provide business functions by connecting the countryside,industrial small cities and towns provide industry driving functions by utilizing resources and location advantages,suburban small cities and towns provide evacuation functions by undertaking the spillover of large cities,and tourism small cities and towns provide recreation functions by developing unique natural landscape resources.The richness of the concept of small cities and towns determines that it cannot be generalized in the study."When several villages are united in a single complete community,large enough to be nearly or quite self-sufficing,the state comes into existence,originating in the bare needs of life,and continuing in existence for the sake of a good life" 2.This original elaboration explains the essence of the existence of the city.When the city has a negative effect due to its too large scale,residents will consider leaving the large city.At present,the large cities with high urbanization rate show a state of incremental expansion to stock mining in micro space.The speed of the growth boundary expansion of the central urban area and covering the suburbs gradually slows down.The relationship between the large cities and small towns in the peripheral areas of them also changes from annexation to satellite independence.These small cities and towns,which have not been internalized as urban centers,are facing the challenge of passive growth and less active development experience.In terms of space,this type of small cites and towns often exposes problems such as scattered space development,poor facilities and dual differentiation of urban and rural communities.Based on the common geographical location around large cities,this paper explores the problems faced by these small cities and towns,and puts forward the spatial development strategy based on the analysis of the influencing factors.In order to clarify the development status of small cities and towns around large cities in China,this study adopts the method of combining questionnaire survey and field survey,and systematically reviews the typical spatial characteristics of small cities and towns in China due to their proximity to large cities.Through the analysis of remote sensing data,the multi-layer reasons behind the phenomenon are revealed,including the difference of planning management and control leads to the construction area spreads continuously close to the edge of the large city,the difference of land users' payment ability leads to the polarization of urban land use function,the difference of urban and rural life inertia leads to the separation of urban communication space.In terms of strategy formulation,in order to improve its pertinence and implementation,the methods of index selection,system construction and assignment analysis are adopted to separate out the key points and difficulties.Finally,the strategy is proposed,including more comprehensive space constraints,focus on the feasibility of staged arrangement,diversified characteristics of zoning,people-oriented shaping of memorable space.In case study,Qingguang Town,Beichen District,Tianjin,which has the typical characteristics of this kind of small cities and towns,is selected.After analyzing the spatial evolution law of this town since 1984,four specific strategies are put forward,mining the maximum value of land and resources in Qingguang Town,staging plan supported by data analysis,realizing differentiated development by creating four characteristic zones,and remembering industrial culture by shaping space.Finally,I hope that this study can play a guiding role for the spatial development of small cities and towns in the peripheral areas of large cities.
