The in-depth development of the global value chain has greatly changed the characteristics of today's international trade and industry. The results of the total trade statistics method and the statistical method of trade value added have a large gap.At the same time,in the field of international trade governance, the failure of global multilateral mechanisms has led countries to move to more flexible bilateral and regional rules to achieve deeper and more convenient international cooperation. The China-ASEAN Free Trade Area is the world's largest free trade zone composed entirely of developing countries. Its in-depth and meticulous research will contribute to the implementation of China's free trade zone strategy and the construction of a new reform and opening up pattern. The proportion of value-added trade among China ASEAN member countries is gradually increasing.Using the OECD-WTO TIVA inputoutput database, this paper finds that the value-added trade index of ChinaASEAN region increased from 5.35 in 2005 to 8.01 in 2015,and the trade intensity index increased by 49.7%.During this period,China-ASEAN economic linkage shows a U-shaped trend. The two-way fixed effect and GMM dynamic test show that value-added trade has a significant positive impact on the economic linkage between China and ASEAN,and industrial structure differences have a positive mediating effect on the economic linkage of value-added trade. The greater the difference between the two industrial structures, the more significant the impact of value-added trade on the economic linkage between China and ASEAN.Under the background of value chain division of labor,China-ASEAN should give full play to the structural differences and complementary advantages of its members' domestic industries, strengthen the division of labor and cooperation in value chain, and continuously promote regional economic integration.
