A Study Of Agricultural Thought Of Classical Economics

The agricultural thought of classical economics is deeply influenced by the agricultural thought of physiocratic school in France,and on its basis,it is improved and perfected constantly.The French physiocratic school emerged in the 1750 s to1770s,which was the starting point of the systematic study of western agricultural thought.This school promoted the emergence of classical economics in France.As a part of the development of classical economics,its agricultural thought played a very important role in the development of agricultural thought of classical economics,although it lasted for a short time.Classical economics originated from Britain and France,and its agricultural thoughts provided theoretical guidance for the early development of agricultural economy in the two countries.Later,with the rise of other western countries such as the United States and Germany,the agricultural thoughts of some countries were influenced by the agricultural thoughts of classical economics,although they were not identical with the agricultural thoughts of classical economics to some extent.The development of western agricultural thought did not stop,the German economist du neng started the first agricultural geography.Until the 1950 s,the agricultural development thought of neoclassical economics initiated the new research direction of modern agriculture.Based on the related works and documents,this paper makes a comprehensive and clear exposition of the evolution process of agricultural thought in classical economics.First,the classical economics and physiocratism are respectively elaborated,and then the agricultural thought of physiocratism is elaborated in detail,mainly from the generation,the characteristics of the theory,the agricultural thought,the policy proposition,and explains why physiocratism is called classical economics;Secondly,it expounds the evolution of the agricultural thought of classical economics,and expounds its agricultural thought from seven aspects: the status and function of agriculture,the relationship between agriculture and population,the factors of production of agriculture,the farming method of agriculture,the law of diminishing land returns,the theory of land rent,and the free trade theory of agricultural products.Thirdly,the idea of agricultural development revived classicaleconomics in the 1950 s,opening a new direction for the development of modern agriculture.Finally,combining with the modern agricultural development theory of classical economics,this paper puts forward the enlightenment to the development of modern agriculture in China.
